Restaurant sends free food to St. Luke's ER staff, coffee shop offers them free drinks


Our health workers are feeling the love!

The ER staff of St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City expressed their gratefulness after receiving food from the Rue Bourbon Restaurant.

"Our heartfelt thanks goes to Rue Bourbon Restaurant for sending food to our ER staff. This simple act of kindness means a lot to our healthcare workers. This gesture reflects how their efforts are valued at this difficult time," they said in a Facebook post.

 

They also thanked the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf branch near them for offering them coffee on the house.

"Our Global City heroes are deeply touched by you gesture of kindness and solidarity," they said in another post.

 

Earlier, Pino Restaurant and its vegetarian sister Pipino, and their other sibling Pi Breakfast and Pies, all on Malingap Street in Quezon City also offered free and unlimited coffee to all medical workers and scientists in the academe.

The government raised the Code Red Sub-Level 2 alert on Thursday due to the rising number of COVID-19 infections in the country.

President Rodrigo Duterte announced tougher measures to combat the spread of COVID-19, including work and class suspensions as well as travel restrictions, as part of a "community quarantine" in Metro Manila.
