Who else is craving for some Korean amid the enhanced community quarantine?

Well, you’re in luck, because celebrity Chef Nino Logarta just whipped up a recipe for Bibimbap and shared it with GMA News Online. It's tasty, healthy and super easy to make!

You just need a few ingredients and any type of protein you can get from canned goods. There’s also nothing wrong with going with just egg and veggies.

To make some Bibimbap good for two people, prepare the following:

  • 5 pieces bacon / corned beef / sardines (or any kind of protein available in your pantry)
  • 2 cups of rice
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup of carrots (thinly)
  • 1 cup of cucumbers (seeded and sliced)
  • 1/2 cup bean sprouts (blanched)
  • 1/2 cup mushrooms (sliced)
  • 1/3 green onions (sliced)
  • 2 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 3 teaspoons of Ssamjaang (soybean paste) / Gochujang (spicy chilli paste) / or any sauce of your choice
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Directions:

  1. Cook the protein. Lightly fry the bacon in a non-stick pan over medium heat, then set it aside. In the same pan, fry the eggs individually in the bacon fat and a little butter.
  2. Sautee the veggies. Sautee all your vegetables (except the cucumbers and green onion) one by one with some sesame oil, season them with salt and pepper, then set them aside.
  3. Toss the cucumbers and green onions together, and season them with a little soy sauce and sesame oil.
  4. Scoop some rice into two bowls, then arrange the the meat, eggs and vegetables individually on top of the rice (dividing each component to 2 equal portions)
  5. To top it off, spoon in your paste and sauces, sprinkle some more green onions and drizzle some soy sauce and sesame oil ton top to finish.
  6. Mix!

The meal also makes for an awesome recovery meal after your #quaroutine workout for all you guys trying to stay fit at home.

Luzon is currently on its fourth week of enhanced community quarantine, which was imposed to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
