This weekend market aims to help farmers, fisherfolk, and food entrepreneurs
The effects of COVID-19 pandemic is far and wide. Along with the food industry is the agriculture sector, with farmers losing sales (because restaurants have been closed and have been closing) and even their means of transportation.
Enter Harvest to Goodness Weekend Market. Partnering with Department of Agriculture, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls aims to provide an outlet for farmers, fisherfolk, and Filipino-owned restaurants to showcase their fresh produce and catch, as well as other food offerings in a safe shopping environment.
The Harvest to Goodness Weekend Market features produce from farmers of Benguet, Baguio, Bulacan, Quezon, and Batangas, who will bring vegetables, fruits, herbs, spices, seedlings, condiments and other dairy products.
Participating restaurants like Recovery Food, Tepanyaki Brothers, Kureji, Brotziet, Icebergs, Tokyo Milk Cheese, Kenya Kokoro will have special menus that feature farm-to-table dishes made from locally sourced ingredients.
The farmers market have started this weekend at the open spaces of Eastwood Central Plaza in Eastwood City to continue on the following dates:
- July 24-26: Eastwood City
- July 31-August 2: Venice Grand Canal, McKinley Hill
- August 7-9: Uptown Bonifacio, BGC
And as most new normal things, wearing of face masks, temperature checks, and footwear and hand sanitation, and social distancing will be implemented.
