Laying off meat? Try Kara David's delicious okra curry

Kara David shared an out-of-the-box recipe on Pinas Sarap's online show "ECQusina."

The prime ingredient this week was okra, which is a good choice for people who want to lay off the pork, or simply just stay healthy.

Kara also shared how to whip up some okra curry, which was inspired by her husband LM Cancio for him the dish was a favorite among his Indian co-workers abroad.

For ingredients, you'll only need:

  • Ground meat (optional)
  • Okra
  • Tomato
  • Curry powder
  • Gata
  • Ginger
  • Onion
  • Garlic
  • Patisa

Kara started by preparing her okra. She cut, washed, and patted them dry in advance. She proceeded to fry them in high heat, just to get rid of the vegetable's natural, but slimy substance.

After that step, Kara said you should take a pan and sautee your onion, garlic and ginger. Next, add the tomatoes. Once that's done, add about two tablespoons of curry powder (but you can add as much as you like later on).

Finally, pour in your coconut milk and seasoning.

Let it boil until the sauce becomes nice and thick, then your okra curry is ready to go!

"ECQusina" is an online cooking show hosted by Kara David that goes live on Facebook every Thursday. Celebrity guests also teach viewers how to make tasty dishes just with daily grocery items every Friday.
