Here's an easy recipe for some healthy but tasty kalabasa soup

If you're looking for a healthy meal to serve this week, then the kalabasa soup is just right for you!

During a live ECQusina episode on Friday, Kara David showed viewers how to make a delicious serving of kalabasa soup or squash and celery soup.

According to Kara, squash is known to provide vitamin C, vitamin A, protein, and manganese,.

The only ingredients needed for the kalabasa soup are minced onions, chopped celery and squash, chicken stock, and milk or cream.

First, heat a pan with oil. After the onions are sauteed, add the celery and squash. You can also opt to add butter to make the mixture tastier.

"Ang celery rich in fiber, kinakain to ng nag-di-diet," Kara explained. "Celery ang baba ng calorie count niya."

After adding the butter, simply season the soup with salt and add the chicken stock. Let it simmer for a while until the squash is soft.

Then, put the soup in a blender so the mixture becomes more appealing to the little kids, since the bits of celery and squash won't be that visible anymore.

When the soup is now all thick and blended, add milk and white pepper for the finishing touch.

"Kung gusto niyong mas kumapal pa siya lagyan niyo ng cream," Kara shared.

Once everything is mixed together, you now have yourself a healthy treat for you and your family!

"ECQusina" is an online show hosted by Kara David that goes live on Facebook every week where she teaches viewers how to make tasty dishes just with daily grocery items.

Other celebrities who have appeared in the show are Kimpoy Feliciano, Ken Chan, and Katrina Halili. â€”Kaela Malig/JCB, GMA News
