Manila opens Kapetolyo, a new cafe near Bonifacio Shrine on International Coffee Day

A new cafe at the Bonifacio Shrine called Kapetolyo officially opened its doors to guests on International Coffee Day.

According to DzBB’s Isa Umali, the new hangout located at the Kartilya ng Katipunan Park is a project of the Manila City Hall.

The structure boasts a sleek, modern design with large glass windows and wooden exterior.

Guests who step inside are also greeted with cozy and contemporary interior, from the hanging lights to the loft-like space.

Photos taken by Umali during the launch on Thursday showed several visitors and staff members wearing masks.

Manila's City Engineer Armand Andres had said Kapetolyo will be serving homegrown coffee to its customers.

In an interview with the Manila Public Information Office last August, Andres also said the coffee shop is part of Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso's plan to bring Manila back to its old glory. — LA, GMA News
