At this new BGC restaurant, sweet Aklan oysters go for as low as P60

There are plenty good restaurants in Metro Manila serving delectable seafood, but fresh, delicious oysters? They come few and far between — and at a pretty penny, too.

So newly opened Salt & Ice Bar PH in BGC is Godsend. The resto-bar specializes in Aklan oysters and the ever-essential craft cocktails with which to pair them.

Even better: Oysters range from P60 to P70 per piece.

After nearly six months of renovation, Salt & Ice in Uptown Parade just reopened its doors to the public this month after almost half a year of renovation.

It now boasts of cozy interiors, wooden walls and flooring that perfectly match the restaurant's ladderback cushioned chairs and marble tables. Its facade is mostly made of high-ceiling glass, where you can see through a well-lit bar housing a fine selection of spirits and alcohol.

But nothing beats its oyster selection. Oyster Tempura for P60/piece as those Japanese-style Fried Oysters complete with with wasabi mayonnaise and ponzu sauce, and Oyster Mornay.

Baked oysters with creamy bechamel sauce and mozzarella cheese and Oyster Spinach & Malunggay go for P65 a pop.

Salt & Ice also has Oyster Parmigiana (P65), Oyster Bacon & Cheese (P70), Oyster Kilpatrick (P70), and the good 'ol plain Oysters (P60) for those who want it simple.

Salt & Ice pairs its oysters with its own signature cocktails with none other than  mixologist Abby Quilal-lan, La Maison Cointreau Philippines Cocktail Competition 2019 Champion, at the helm.

Our recommendation? Salt & Ice is Eternal Rose (P480), a mix of Hendricks, Raspberry, Honey, and Rose prepared in a smokey dome a-la 'Beauty & The Beast.'

Other craft cocktails include Aurora (P460), a playful mix of Cazadores Tequilla, Blue Pea, and Grapefruit Lime, She's A Bliss (P450), Pisco mixed with Hibiscus, Apple, and Lemon, and Kiss Kiss (P470), a mix of Remy Martin, Absinthe, and Hazelnut. — LA, GMA News
