Bring home a taste of Japan from this soon-to-open Japanese supermarket in BGC

Japanese food lovers, unite!

While Japanese food may seem intimidating to make at home, there are many easy recipes that Filipinos can "DIY" using authentic Japanese ingredients. And at this soon-to-open Japanese supermarket, Mitsukoshi FRESH in Bonifacio Global City, all the ingredients in making authentic sushi, ramen, and other Japanese food favorites will now be available locally, all thanks to the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO).

To excite discerning customers, Chef Masaaki Ishikawa recently held a cooking demo and subsequent tasting of Japanese dishes to the members of the press using products that will be available soon at Mitsukoshi FRESH, all from the Land of the Rising Sun.

Among the dishes Chef Masaaki prepared included Kani Salad, Tamagoyaki, Onigiri, Temari Sushi, Salmon Rolls, and Cold Somen Noodles.

And, of course, no feast is complete without drinks, and guests sipped on cocktails made with some of the finest beverages Japan has to offer. First, an Okukuma High-Ball was made with Toyonaga Okukuma from Kumamoto Prefecture.

The Shochu Kahlua Milk, a mix of Little Kiss Coffee Liquor from Kagoshima and milk, was a hit with coffee lovers. Meanwhile, beer lovers enjoyed Ume-Yuzu Beer, a mix of Atiho Plum and Yuzu Liquor, and beer.

All the ingredients, condiments, and drinks highlighted in the cooking and tasting demo will be available at Mitsukoshi FRESH, slated to open later this year. Irasshaimase!
