Toyo Eatery's Jordy Navarra to star in Netflix series 'Chefs Uncut'

Toyo Eatery's Jordy Navarra to star in Netflix series' Chefs Uncut'

It's about time our Filipino chefs take the spotlight!

Chef Jordy Navarra, the genius behind the critically acclaimed restaurant Toyo Eatery, is set to star in an upcoming Netflix series dubbed "Chefs Uncut."

He will be one of "six culinary maestros who have left a significant mark on the Asian food scene" that the docuseries will put focus on.

Joining Chef Navarra, are Thailand's Pichaya Soontornyanakij and Thitid Tassanakajohn, Singapore's Bjorn Shen, Singapore's Janice Wong and LG Han.

This isn't the first time Netflix will be focusing on Asian food and heritage.

Back in 2019, the popular streaming site released "Street Food Asia," where Cebu was among the nine Asian cities highlighted in the series.

The inclusion of Chef Navarra is definitely most welcome.

His Toyo Eatery was named among Asia's 50 Best Restaurants in 2023, while the prestigious London-based awards body named it "The One to Watch" back in 2018.

In November last year, his Toyo Eatery partnered with Shake Shack to produce a limited-edition menu featuring a chicken and cheek BBQ burger, inasal fries, a lambanong lemonade, and a kakanin dessert.

"Chefs Uncut" is set to stream exclusively on Netflix this year.
