The first National Hopia Day is happening this July

The country's first-ever National Hopia Day is happening this July, and it's going to be celebrated over the course of three days!

National Hopia Day will be held from July 19 to 21 at the Mall of Asia Music Hall. It will be hosted by Eng Bee Tin in celebration of Filipino-Chinese tradition and the world-class flavors of the beloved hopia pastry.

The event is free admission and promises a ton of fun activities suitable for the whole family, as well as big surprises and promos.

On the first day, attendees can look forward to sampling a variey of hopia, from traditional to innovative flavors, with a hopia tasting. There will also be family games in the afternoon, followed by an evening concert.

Those who want to learn how to make hopia can attend on the second day, which will include a hopia making workshop, kids' activities, a cooking demonstration, and cultural performances in the evening.

The last day of the event will kick off with a fun run, followed by a hopia eating contest, and will be capped off by an awards and closing ceremony in the afternoon.

Eng Bee Tin has been around for 112 years and is a household name for many, as far as hopia is concerned. It was first established by Chua Chiu Hong as a small stall in 1912 in Ongpin, Manila. Aside from hopia, it also offers other traditional Chinese delicacies like tikoy, as well as cakes, bread, and frozen food products.

Today, Eng Bee Tin's products are available in various stores, restaurants, and groceries nationwide, and are also exported to Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and across Asia.
