This restaurant is gunning for world record of most photos of pepper rice plates uploaded

Pepper Lunch, a popular restaurant chain known for its teppan-style meals, is aiming to set a Guinness World Record.

The company announced the first World Pepper Rice Day, a global celebration marking 31 years since the sizzling debut of the original branch in Tokyo, Japan.

It will be held on July 3 for the Guinness World Record of “Most Photos of Hotplate Pepper Rice Uploaded to Facebook in 1 Hour.”

Those interested need to order any Pepper Rice (whether dining in or for takeout) may upload their photo on Facebook with the hashtag #WorldPepperRiceDay from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 3. Posts need to be made public to be counted as entries.

Pepper Lunch is best known for serving food like rice, steaks, combo meals, and more on sizzling hot plates. Their Pepper Margarine and garlic soy sauce hold their signature flavors, and allow diners to cook and season their meal their own way. —Nika Roque/JCB, GMA Integrated News
