Chocolate Lover Inc. announces permanent closure after 36 years

Chocolate Lover Inc. has announced that it will permanently close on December 27.

Annie Carmona-Lim, the owner of the beloved 36-year-old baking supplies store — and Cubao landmark — shared the sad news through an emotional video on Facebook.

“Ayaw na kasing manahin ng mga anak ko. OK na po kami sa ibang bansa,” she said.

“Ako naman ay mag-aalaga na lang ng apo kasi matanda na rin po ako,” she added.

According to Annie, the iconic castle of Chocolate Lover Inc. is up for sale, although they are also open to offers for rent in the meantime.

Before the permanent closure on December 27, Chocolate Lover Inc. will continue selling its baking supplies and equipment.

“Talagang hindi namin pababayaan ‘yung mga customers naming na kung kailan nila kailangan ngayong Pasko, bibitawan namin, hindi po,” she said.

“‘Yung dedication ng Chocolate Lover sa mga nagbi-business, gano’n pa rin po ‘yung support namin,” she added.

In her video message, Annie expressed gratitude to Chocolate Lover Inc.’s loyal patrons throughout the years, including those who became her students in their baking workshops.

“Maraming, maraming salamat sa lahat ng suppliers namin, mga dati kong estudyante, mga customers namin, ito na, goodbye na after 36 years,” she said.

“Tatlong taon ko na pong iniiyakan ‘to kasi hindi ko talaga kaya,” she added. “Baby ko kasi ‘to eh, pero kailangan ko na lang mag sabi ng goodbye.”
