BGC modern speakeasy to close doors after 10 years
BGC modern speakeasy Bank Bar will close its doors after 10 years, it announced on social media.
"Ten years ago, we opened a secret door that led to countless cocktail-filled evenings. We set out to create a hidden sanctuary that felt both exclusive and alive. While it is the end of an era, reaching this milestone feels like the natural point to conclude the Bank Bar story," it said.
As it thanked its patrons as it raised its glass for all the shared memories, Bank Bar said it will permanently close its doors on December 27, 2025.
In its photo message, Bank Bar expressed its "hope you'll stop by for one last drink and help us toast to the moments that made this ride unforgettable."
Borrowing the Prohibition Era's speakeasy practice of serving drinks at hidden locations, Bank Bar opened at the ground floor of a bank building in BGC, with its entrance located at the back storage area of a convenience store.
Once past the unlikely passageway, patrons are treated to a low-lit lounge with a sophisticated bar. Bank Bar, which belongs to the Moment Group, was frequented by the well-heeled and the well-dressed.
