Butterboy in QC announces permanent closure
Butterboy, located at 81 Basa St., Quezon City, has announced its permanent closure.
The bakeshop, known for hosting daylight drag shows, announced the news on Instagram.
“As Butterboy continues to grow, we’ve reached a point where we need to focus on building and expanding Butterboy for the future,” the statement read.
“Closing 81 Basa enables us to realign and strengthen our operations, preparing us for bigger opportunities ahead,” it added. “New spaces, new ideas, and better ways to serve more people.”
Butterboy will continue accepting dine-in orders until January 4, while its other kiosk branches at SM Mall of Asia, SM North EDSA, and SM San Lazaro will remain open.
Butterboy began as a passion project of a gay couple seeking good food during their date nights.
It sells its classic croissant for as low as P59 to P80. Some of its bestsellers include Pain Au Chocolat (P75) and Kouign Amann (P70). —Hermes Joy Tunac/KG, GMA Integrated News
