"Unang Hirit" was recently in Iloilo to join the Dinagyang festivities, where the theme is Bugay Sang Ginoo, Bugal Sang Mga Ilonggo, or Biyaya ng Panginoon, Karangalan ng mga Ilonggo.

The annual festival celebrates Sto. Niño, and as such there were lots of dancing, colorful costumes, street parties and of course, food.

Iloilo is deemed a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy and UH Host Suzi Entrata scoured the city for the best eats and highlighted three:

1. Pancit Molo

Inspired by the wonton soup of the Chinese, Iloilo's pancit molo has bits of chicken, and ground meat inside the pocket. "Yung balot ng molo niya, yung parang pancit," Suzi said.

It's a popular dish and one that is offered in many restaurants. On Reddit, netizens are recommending Byron's, Stella, and Kap Ising.

2. The giant siopao at Roberto's

Siopao as big as your face? That's what Roberto's has been serving since 1978. There is an almost always a line of people eager on Calle Real eager to try Roberto's giant offerings. Its King siopao contains ham, Chinese sausage, chicken and pork adobo with egg, but its the Queen siopao that's the real talk of the town: bacon, Chinese sausage, chicken-pork adobo and egg.

3. Coffee at Madge Cafe

Standing strong in La Paz Market is Madge Cafe. Since 1940, Madge has been serving coffee the traditional way — using a coffee strainer and a large metal kettle — giving diners a taste not just of delicious coffee but also of history.
