Come for the tapas, stay for the music: Got Soul MNL brings Hi-Fi dining experience to BGC

This one’s for music lovers who enjoy good beats with great bites.

In the heart of the lively Burgos Circle in Bonifacio Global City lies Got Soul MNL, a newly opened Hi-Fi listening bar and restaurant offering a unique dining experience in Metro Manila.

For those not in the know, Hi-Fi, short for high fidelity, refers to high-quality sound reproduction that allows listeners to hear music with greater clarity and detail.

At Got Soul MNL, music takes center stage. The DJ booth serves as the focal point of the resto-bar, equipped with two sound systems: a modern quadraphonic setup and a vintage Altec Lansing A5 system, along with additional speakers and amplifiers designed to deliver rich, high-quality sound.

Throughout the week, the venue spins a mix of jazz, soul, funk, disco, house, and electronic music during its listening sets. As the night unfolds, the dining space gradually transforms into an intimate dance floor.

Complementing the music is a Spanish-inspired menu spearheaded by chefs Chele Gonzalez and Carlos Villaflor. The concept highlights modern Spanish tapas alongside urban global dishes with a Filipino twist.

Among the must-try dishes are the cheese and jalapeño poppers (P390), humba bomba (P300), and patatas bravas (P250) for appetizers, followed by mains such as sisig pasta (P390), churrasco con chimichurri (P1,750), and wagyu bistek (P2,400).

The paella selection features three variations, available for solo diners or to share. Blending Spanish and Filipino flavors, guests can choose from paella negra (P550–P1,500), Cebu lechon paella (P450–P1,200), and chicken inasal paella (P390–P990).

For drinks, the bar offers a wide selection of wine, signature cocktails, non-alcoholic beverages, craft coffee, and dedicated whiskey and tequila programs.

The GotSoul brand was founded by Filipino-Canadian DJ and producer Jojo Flores, who launched GotSoul Records in 2000, a label focused on underground deep and soulful house music. Inspired by listening bars in cities like London, New York, and Tokyo, he later opened Café GotSoul in Montreal in 2021 with his brother Toddy.

Flores brought the concept to the Philippines with Café GotSoul Boracay, which opened in April 2025 as a beachfront restaurant-café at Station 1 featuring a full menu and sunset DJ sets. —JCB, GMA Integrated News
