Into coffee raves? This Singaporean cafe is bringing 'Beans 'N Beats' to Metro Manila

Who says partying has to mean staying out until sunrise with an alcoholic drink in hand?

A new trend is challenging that idea by combining upbeat music with café culture. Dubbed the "coffee rave," it offers a lively social experience where people can dance, mingle, and enjoy good coffee without sacrificing a full night's sleep.

Common Man Coffee Roasters (CMCR), a Singaporean café brand, recently brought its signature take on the global coffee rave trend, "Beans N' Beats," to the Philippines.

It was held to celebrate the opening of the brand's second outpost in the country at West Gallery Place in Bonifacio Global City.

In an interview with GMA News Online, Karole Santos, CMCR's head of marketing, said the coffee rave trend is slowly gaining traction in the Philippines.

"Singapore, Los Angeles, and Australia are some of the markets that we're seeing adapt this kind of culture," she said.

"We really see that coffee raves will be a thing of the now and a thing of our near future here in the Philippines," she added.

During the event, CMCR brought in DJ Margachi and DJ Jimmy Nocon for an afternoon of good beats and high energy, fueled not by booze but by beans.

In 2025, CMCR held its first Beans N' Beats event at its first Philippine outpost in Ayala Triangle Gardens. Santos said BGC taps into a different market and revealed plans to make coffee raves a regular feature at its cafés.

"We know that BGC gives a different vibe and therefore we want to bring it here," she said. "We wanted to do it on a more regular basis, quarterly, if we can."

CMCR also introduced familiar Filipino flavors through its limited-time drinks inspired by the Philippines.

The Batirol Espresso features deep chocolate notes with bold espresso topped with toasted marshmallow for a warm, nostalgic sip.

Meanwhile, the Samalamig Latte takes inspiration from the refreshing street-side beverage many Filipinos grew up enjoying. Combining muscovado banana syrup, espresso, creamy milk, and green gulaman, the drink transforms a familiar childhood favorite into a café experience.

The Batirol Espresso and Samalamig Latte are available for a limited time at Common Man Coffee Roasters stores in Ayala Triangle Gardens and West Gallery Place.
