Wowie De Guzman slightly injured in car accident in Batangas

Actor and dancer Wowie De Guzman sustained minor injuries after the car he was driving crashed into a concrete barrier along Maharlika Highway in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas, early Tuesday morning.

Citing Sto. Tomas Police, GMA News stringer Marlon Luistro reported that the accident occurred at around 4 a.m. in Barangay San Bartolome. The actor said that he fell asleep while driving, causing his car to crash into the concrete barriers in the middle of the highway.

Wowie sustained bruising on his thigh. The car’s airbag deployed during the crash, helping prevent more serious injuries.

His two other companions in the vehicle were unharmed.

The group was reportedly on its way back to Manila after attending a show in Guinayangan, Quezon, when the accident occurred.

On Facebook, Wowie assured the public that he was doing fine following the incident.

“FYI, guys... Please relax. Thankfully, I’m okay. No serious injuries, I’m 100% okay. I can definitely still warm up later. I just woke up here in Pampanga,” he wrote in Filipino.
