Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach isn't one to shy away from showing off her sexy and trimmed body on social media.
Last week, the Filipina beauty queen caught the attention of her followers in a black swimsuit—all for her dedication to HIV/AIDS awareness.
According to Pia in an Instagram post on Saturday, “NOW that I have your attention, do you know your status yet? Cos I know mine. Not your relationship status, silly! I meant HIV status.”
Since her crowning as Miss Universe in December, Pia has gained global attention for her advocacies, including HIV/AIDS awareness and gender equality.
Last June, she went to the Apicha Community Health Center (Apicha CHC) in New York City to have herself tested for HIV/AIDS.
While she has not revealed her status to the public since the testing, the titleholder insisted that it really shouldn't matter.
According to the Filipina beauty queen, “What if I say 'positive'? Are you going to be disgusted? Does that mean I'm a horrible person? Hmmm. That's where the discrimination comes in. My point is: Know your status. My question was 'Do you know your status' and not 'What's your status?' There's a difference.”
In an interview with advocacy group amfAR when she returned to New York, she said that she wants to use the attention she has received as Miss Universe to direct people towards important issues, such as battling the rise of HIV/AIDS cases by breaking down taboos and urging the government to be more vigilant about human traffic and rampant drug use. —Bianca Rose Dabu/NB, GMA News
