Pinoy MD answers: Does appendix surgery have an effect on future pregnancy?

On "Pinoy MD" this past weekend, cancer surgeon Dr. Dave Ampil II answered questions from followers on social media about their health concerns.

One of the questions he answered was from Jamer Piol Zapico Leah on Facebook, who asked: "Totoo ba na kapag inoperahan sa appendix ay hindi na puwedeng mabuntis?"

Dr. Ampil said having appendix surgery does not have any effect on future pregnancy, noting that the appendix is what experts call a vestigial organ, which doesn't have a known function in the body.

"Kahit na tatanggalin mo ito ay walang masamang nangyayari sa katawan," he said. —JST, GMA News
