Woman in Negros Occidental said to be 120 years old

Is there a 120-year-old person living in the Philippines? That's what one family in Negros Occidental claims in a report on GMA's "24 Oras Weekend."

Fondly called "Lola Isca," Francisca Susano celebrated her birthday on September 11. If she indeed was born in 1897, she would be older than the Philippines' independence, which was signed on June 12, 1898.

According to the report, Susano credits her good health—her memory is still sharp—to being a vegetarian.

Officially, however, the world's oldest living person is 117-year-old Nabi Tajima of Japan. She assumed the title after the previous holder, Violet Mosse-Brown of Jamaica, died last Friday.

Mosse-Brown was born in March 1900, while Tajima was born in August of the same year. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
