Joyce Ching graduates from college, says months of no projects was God's way for her to finish school

Kapuso star Joyce Ching has graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts in Film from Meridian International College Business and Arts Inc.

Joyce shared the news on her Facebook account Friday, a week after she marched for graduation.

Sharing photos of herself in her graduation toga smiling from ear to ear, with her family, friends and boyfriend Kevin, Joyce thanked God for guiding her through four years of work and school.

"It wasn’t easy, there were a lot of sacrifices (especially with sleep), a lot of decision-making (sleep or eat, work or go to school) but God was just really faithful in giving me strength, provision, and time for everything."

Joyce said she had to overload with units for her last semester in college to be able to march in time. "I had to go to school Mon-Sat (except Wed) so I could finish all my requirements and graduate. Before I enrolled, I was really praying and asking God if I should do it."

She said her schedule made it impossible for her to get a teleserye so she left it all in God's hands.

"Because if I did, it was impossible for me to get a teleserye because tapings usually happen MWF. But I just really felt that God wants me to finish college, it was His plan for me. So I told Him, “Lord, Mon-Sat to, hindi ko talaga kaya mag teleserye, ikaw na bahala sa schedule ko."

After praying, she said she did not get any calls for a show or teleserye for 4 months except for a few guestings and mall shows.

"I wasn’t getting any calls for a show or a teleserye. All I had for the last 4 months were a few guestings and mall shows. (Paubos na ang savings mga mumsh!) But it was okay. Hindi naman kailangang sobra-sobra para masabing blessed ka at nagprovide si Lord for you. It was enough for us to survive and for me to pay for my school fees...I want to finish dahil sayang ang tuition fee, hello?"

And then the miracle: "Right after I presented my last presentation for my last class as a film student, (as in no joke, right after ko talaga magpresent, mga 3 seconds lang ang pagitan, ganun) my manager messaged me and called me saying I already have a show and I already have a schedule the following week. TOTOO BA LORD?! HINDI PA NGA AKO NAKAKAPAGDASAL AT HINDI KO PA NGA NAIISIP NA MAGSIMULA MAGDASAL PERO BINIGAY MO NA?! PALABAN!"

Joyce expressed how "amazed" she was with how God works and thought that having no calls for a teleserye project for months is God's way for her to graduate on time.

"Hindi ka ba na-amaze? Sobrang funny ni Lord!! There sometimes would be closed doors for certain opportunities, but that’s only because it’s all part of the journey He’s taking us in. We just really have to trust Him, His process and let Him lead the way and do ourselves a favor and not worry or stress out on the things we shouldn’t be worrying about."

Joyce is now starring on the afternoon GMA drama series "The Stephdaughters" as Grace.

We don't know about you, but we're feeling God's presence through and through in Joyce's story. Thank you, Graduate! And congratulations!
