Cata Tibayan posts 3-month body transformation photo, shares journey to fitness

Cata Tibayan took to Instagram to share her outstanding 3-month body transformation and her journey to fitness.

The Kapuso entertainment reporter and anchor posted a before-and-after photo of herself in January 2019 and April 2019, showing the apparent change in her weight.

From weighing 154 pounds with 34 percent body fat, she's now down to 143 pounds 27 percent body fat.

In the caption, Cata narrated her journey to becoming fitter.

"My #HITMANDANSTORY: People used to call me by many names “anchor butter” “ms.fluffy” “salbabida” " she started.

Cata admitted that she used to have excuses to skip exercises, "my usual excuse for not working out..., I was either too busy with work, or I’d rather spend more time playing with Conner than exercising."

Her mindset started to change when she was assigned to interview Kapuso actor and beauty queen Winwyn Marquez about her fitness regimen. There, she met Winwyn's coach, Dan.

"Win was sharing her home workout when Coach Dan started asking me...what happened to you? You seem bloated, you should start exercising. Ano credibility mo gumawa ng report kung di ka naman mage-exercise?” not entirely harsh (well kinda harsh ouch) but his statements were and always truthful!"

According to Cata, she thought of different motivations for herself, including buying a new car, going to Maldives, having a second baby, but the only that that got her going was her son Conner. "I wanna be strong for Conner, I want to live longer for the ones I love,” she wrote.

Cata then put her best foot forward, narrating how she would wake up earlier than usual just to fit exercising in her schedule. Giving up was the easiest but thankfully, she had a strong support system in her fitness friends.

"Anyone can easily walk away and give up but yet HMD community is ever supportive, I actually fell in love with the community (moms with same vision, driven by the same purpose, people who just want to be fit and healthy)" she wrote.

In just a matter of three months, Cata not only look and feel better, she also became stronger.

"So days and weeks came by, month after month I felt lighter yet stronger. I now have a different disposition with work and life balance. Im definitely happier — from almost 160 pounds, now I'm down to 143 pounds. I still don’t have that perfect body but everyday I strive for progress!" — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
