A taho vendor inspires Nico Bolzico: 'The capability to smile no matter the circumstance is what makes this country invincible'
Looking for motivation on this Monday? Nico Bolzico is here to remind you, that what you’re looking for might actually be yourself.
On Instagram Monday, Solenn Heussaff’s funnyman of a husband turned serious and shared his experience living in the Philippines for eight years, contemplating on his encounters with their village taho vendor, Henry.
According to Nico, the 39-year-old Henry Leonardo wakes up every day at 4 am, endures a 2-hour commute to arrive in their village at 6am, and spend the next six hour going around, selling taho.
Nico shares Henry has been at it since 1998 to provide for his wife and two kids but “every time I see him, he always gives me a massive smile and a happy good morning,” Nico happily observes.
“I have been in the country for 8 years already and I can tell that the smile is the strongest Filipino weapon. It is something that never stops to amaze me, how most of the Filipinos irradiate happiness no matter what!”
Nico then turned inward, noting how we are always looking for motivation and inspiration, looking up to idols. “In my view, life is about discipline, hard work, perseverance, honesty, love, “he begins. “We can find that in most of the people around us, Henry is just one example.
“I encourage you to just look around, be aware of that and return that smile, maybe you are one of these examples! If that is the case, this post is to encourage and celebrate you!
“The capability to smile no matter the circumstances is what makes this country invincible. There is only one idol in this picture and it is definitely not me.”
Amen, brother! And thank you for the reminder.
