The answer is yes.

Pinoy MD resident oncologist Dr. Isaac David Ampil II said that breast cancer does not necessarily start with lumps.

"Ang breast cancer naguumpisa yan hindi sa lump kaagad. Maaaring nagstart 'yan sa sinasabing calcification," he said in the show's latest episode.

Calcification is the change in the architecture of the breast, he explained.

"Maaaring hindi mo yan makapa," he said.

At the early stages of breast cancer, women won't be able to feel any lumps in their breasts, which is why check-ups and screening tests are very important.

"Over the age of 40 or 45, kailangan meron na 'yang at least annual na check up sa doktor at mga screening test tulad ng lomography at ultrasound," Ampil said.
