FEU just won big in the 2019 Golden Kubeta Awards

The Far Eastern University was recognized for having the best and cleanest toilet facilities among schools and universities in the Philippines in the Golden Kubeta Awards.

Joining FEU in the winners circle are Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange in the terminals and stations category, National Museum of Natural History in the government offices category and Xentro Mall Polangui in the malls and restaurants category, which emerged as the winner for the Golden Kubeta top prize last year.

This year's edition has no grand winner due to the change of rules that introduced a physical audit component to the judging.

But with 10,000 social media votes, FEU also won the People's Choice Award, emerging as the big winner this year. We mean, check out the bidet!

The nominees were crowd-sourced via different social media platforms with nominees posting photos of their toilets and hashtagging it #GoldenKubeta to qualify.

The criteria were functionality (40%), aesthetics (30%), amenities (20%) and overall comfort (10%).

Voting was done from November 12 to 15 via Kubeta PH's Facebook page.

According to Maynilad, the Golden Kubeta Awards "advocates the importance of clean toilets in personal health and hygiene, and also seeks to educate the public about proper wastewater management." — Ma. Angelica Garcia/LA, GMA News
