Miss Universe Philippines Organization to take over the prestigious beauty pageant after 50 years with Bb. Pilipinas


Miss Universe Philippines Organization on Monday announced its partnership with the Miss Universe Organization.

They announced the news with a statement posted on Miss Universe Philippines' Facebook shortly after the Miss Universe 2019 coronation event ended.

"The Miss Universe Organization is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Miss Universe Philippines Organization - a fresh team that will lead the country towards its continued quest to share the beauty and grace of the Filipina to the rest of the world," the statement read.

According to the statement, it will be a new organization led by former beauty queen Shamcey Supsup as the National Director. Fashion designer Albert Andrada  will be the Design Council Head, Jonas Gaffud will be the Creative Director, Lia Ramos will be Head of Women Empowerment Committee and Charity, Atty. Nad Bronce will be Head of Legal Affairs, and Mario Garcia as their Business Development head.

In the Facebook post, MUO thanked the Araneta Group and Binibining Pilipinas for catering to the Miss Universe brand for more than five decades.

"The Miss Universe Organization expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the Araneta Group and Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. for their more than 50 years of stewardship of the Miss Universe brand and franchise in the Philippines," it said. 

The new Miss Universe Philippines Organization will hold its first official press conference on December 13, 2019 at 6pm where details on their event in 2020 will be revealed.

Earlier in the year, news  broke that the Miss Universe Organization will leave the Araneta Group, which none other than Madam Stella Araneta denied.

GMA News Online has already reached out to the Araneta Group, which said they will issue a statement soon.
