6 things you can do online while Luzon is on enhanced community quarantine

While there's an "enhanced community quarantine" all through Luzon to contain the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), we are unable to do some activities especially when it involves being outside.

If you're bored out of your mind and you're not sure what to do next during this month-long community quarantine, here are a few online things you can do to make the most out of your time.

1. Keep your calm and do yoga

At tough times like today, panicking won't do  our bodies any good. Keeping calm is one way to lower your cortisol or stress hormone.

And guess what? Yoga might help you with that, since some of its poses and movements help with anxiety.

Thankfully there are a couple of Yoga Studios streaming their classes for free.

Yoga Plus streams its classes on Facebook every 4:00 pm for 60 minutes everyday.

Beyond Yoga meanwhile has been streaming their classes since Sunday, when it temporarily closed it studios. Beyond can stream up to three classes a day (9am, 2pm, 7pm), depending on instructors' availability.

2.  Join an online art class

Papemelroti cancelled their art classes amid the COVID-19 threat, but there's no stopping Robert Alejandro from teaching whoever wants to learn art.

Just earlier, Robert went live for an art class and you can stream and replay it on his Facebook account. Resourceful, productive and creative, right?

3. Sweat it out and boost your immune system

Since most gyms are closed and some of us choose to stay at home just to be safe, these are still not valid excuses to skip a workout.

It's a known fact that exercise improves your overall well-being, which may help boost your immune system so it's important to keep yourself moving during the community quarantine.

Download the Nike Training Club app where you can find workout videos that you can do at home. It's almost as good as having a coach at home.

4. Watch films online

You can stream movies on Netflix, or better yet, watch free original Filipino movies on TBA Studios' YouTube channel where they uploaded most of their films.

5. Listen to podcasts

Podcasts are overflowing on YouTube and Spotify, if you want to educate yourself or listen to stories instead of reading books and watching films, here's another thing you might want to try and do at home.

Spotify made it easier for listeners to choose a podcast, they have categories such as Stories, True Crime, News & Politics, Comedy, Sports & Recreation, Society & Culture, Educational, Lifestyle & Health, Business & Technology, Arts & Entertainment, Music and Kids & Family.

6. Take Ivy League online courses for free

Ivy League schools including Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Princeton, Dartmouth, Yale and Columbia Universities and University of Pennsylvania are all hard to get into, but these schools are offering free online courses. What better time to join a class but during community quarantine?

They offer free courses that cover several categories including Computer Science, Data Science, Programming, Humanities, Business, Art & Design, Science, Social Sciences, health & medicine, ENgineering, Mathematics, Education & Teaching, and Personal development.
