5 new normal safety items to help you become extra cautious amid COVID-19 pandemic

To be honest, it's hard to know if you're taking enough precautionary measures against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), because it is invisible to the naked eye.

So the best way forward? Wash your hands, wear a mask, keep six meters away from people, and sanitize your belongings.

There are sanitation items people can use to help them become extra cautious amid the pandemic to prevent the spread of the virus.

Here are some of the items you might need as shown on Unang Hirit on Tuesday.

1. Face mask case or container

Especially with reusable face masks, don't just place it anywhere, when not in use. Put it inside a face mask container to prevent the spread of bacteria and virus to and from the mask.

Unang Hirit recommends two types of containers: the case type mostly used for reusable ones, and the envelope type, mostly used for disposable surgical masks.

Alternatively, you can use reusable bags — fresh ones, of course — for your face mask. These silicon reusable bags look sturdy and fit for the function!

2. Sanikey

Sanikey is a tool that helps uses avoid contact with high-risk surfaces like elevator buttons, ATM, door handles and light switches.

Seller of sanitation tools Cydrik Lee even said that there's no need to sanitze the Sanikey because it is made of copper, which has anti-microbial and self-oxidizing properties.

3. Handheld UV Sterilizer

Before touching any type of surfaces, you can first sanitize and sterilize them with the handy UV sterilizer with UV bulb that is believed to kill germs to help you stay extra cautious.

To use it, just switch on the tool and scan it on surfaces to sterilize.

4. Foldable sterilizer

Another cool tool you can use is this foldable sterilizer bag where you can put some of the things you use on a daily basis for automatic sterilization.

Your essentials will be sterilized in the bag for five minutes through a power bank, which is the bag's power source.

5. Contactless sanitary tool

Just like the Sanikey, this contactless sanitary tool has several uses and the only difference is this one is made of plastic.

There's also a sponge material inside where you can put alcohol or disinfecting liquid solution.
