I tried Britory Korea's serum and cream for one week and here's what happened

The quarantine period has been very busy for me that I started to neglect my skincare.

So when I saw Bela Padilla launch a two-product skincare line Britory Korea — Like Snow Serum and Like Snow Cream — promising a snow-like glow, I decided to give it a try.

The two-product line sounds absolutely attractive — and more importantly, doable — for someone like me, who is always on-the-go. A two-step skincare routine versus the popular 10-step Korean beauty regimen? I'll choose the two-step routine!

Disclaimer: I rarely went to the derma, even before the pandemic.

I also don't religiously follow any specific skincare routine. In fact, I change my skincare routine from time to time.

Recently, I have been drinking collagen and whey protein for fitness purposes, giving me a bit of acne on my forehead area.

At its official virtual launch, the Britory Korea team listed down the ingredients each of the product.

Britory only has two products: The Serum and the Cream
Britory only has two products: The Like Snow Serum and the Like Snow Cream

The Like Snow Serum has Niacinamide, an ingredient said to smoothen lines and give radiance to the face. It also has Glutathione, which helps to heal scars and brighten uneven skin tone; Arbutin, which lightens and brightens hyperpigmentation, dark spots and acne marks; Ceramide for moisture with anti-aging benefits that protects the skin from environmental damage.

It also has Neem Tree Flower Extract that has anti-inflammatory properties that reduces acne, skin itchiness, and redness, Walnut Leaf Extract to tighten and smoothen skin texture and Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate for a more glowing skin, and control for sebum in oily skin.

Meanwhile, Britory's cream also has Niacinamide, Glutathione, Ceramide and Neem Tree Flower Extract just like its serum. It also contains Panthenol, which is supposed to help improve skin hydration and smoothen appearance, and Lactobacillus Ferment Filtrate, said to have a potent soothing effect giving the skin a radiant glow.

Because I have combination-type skin — I have an oily T-zone area, while the other parts of my face are somewhat dry — its ingredients seemed to be a perfect mix for all my issues.

I tried the products for a week, applying them at night for seven weeks and took notes. This is how I applied them:

Day 1:

Day 1
On Day 1: Before applying the Britory serum, I did my usual routine of using a facial cleanser and then of using micellar water. After the Britory serum, I applied the cream.

After washing my face with my usual cleanser, and further cleaning my face with micellar water, I let it sit for a few minutes before applying the serum first.

I put drops of the serum on my cheeks, forehead, and neck and lightly patted it on my whole face to spread it evenly.

After I let the serum sit for a few minutes, I proceeded to apply the cream — just a pea size of it that I also gently patted on my face to lightly spread the product.

Day 2:

It was easy to notice the difference, coming from zero skincare. My face became a bit softer. I thought it there was glow to my face, but I had great sleep that evening, so I won't yet credit Britory.

I did the same routine for Day 2: cleanser, micellar water, serum, and cream. I noticed the Britory products kind of leave a slightly, sticky feeling, but I don't mind since I'm wearing them to sleep.

Also, the products really give me a refreshing feeling every night before sleep, making me feel pampered after a long tiring day.

Day 3:

I can definitely say, the texture of my face has softened and smoothened, but as to the visible changes? I think I'll need more time to tell.

Even though I have a combination skin type, there are days when my face would feel dry, post-shower. This time however, I noticed that my face feels moisturized on areas where it was usually dry, post-shower.

Because I had zero skincare routine except for washing my face with a cleanser entering this experiment, I immediately noticed this change.

With these two products, I can say that my face feels softer than before.

Also, the cream has a cooling effect on the skin, which feels more refreshing every after application.

Day 4:

On Day 4
On Day 4, my skin started to feel smoother. I thought my face also looked pretty dewy.

My skin started to feel smoother and even more hydrated. And am I seeing the much-talked about radiance on my cheek area? I thought I looked more flushed and glowing than usual.

I thought my face also looked dewy, but not to the point that it looks oily. I think this is the "glass skin that glows like snow" promise. Again, I think sleep is also a big factor for this.

Day 5:

Six months into the quarantine period and I have become pretty comfortable to not be wearing any makeup. Apart from saving me from clogged pores due to the wearing of face masks, there's really no need to wear makeup anymore since I hardly go out.

With my new-found glow from Britory, I think I will be even more comfortable without any makeup on. I can survive coffee runs and grocery trips on sunscreen alone, which has always been a goal for me.

However, just like what I have mentioned for the past days, I think I will need more time using these two products to be able to really see its true effects.

Day 6:

Today, I noticed some white spots that appeared underneath by eyes. They aren't that visible, I just noticed them as I was checking myself closely on the mirror.

My face has remained soft, smooth, and hydrated, so that's why I've been enjoying Britory's two-step routine.

Maybe it's the low-quality sleep the night before? Maybe it was the stress from the other day, too? I think maybe my skin is still adjusting. I came from not putting anything on my face to this!

Day 7:

On Day 7
On Day 7, I could still see the white spots under my eyes but I think maybe I'm still adjusting to finally having a skincare!

The white spots are still there, but much like yesterday, I didn't get much sleep.

The soft and smooth texture of my skin is still there, and I can still feel that my face is much more hydrated compared to when I had a zero skincare routine, so that's a plus for the brand.

Did Bella's new beauty products work wonders for my skin? I don't think the seven-day period is enough for me to judge if the products fit my skincare type.

I do however think that Britory products fits my schedule. I don't have enough time to get on a multiple step skincare routine, so the two-product regimen is perfect for people like me.

I will definitely continue using them to see if they can keep their promise of snow-like glow. I also want to see how my skin will adjust to them.

All in all, these two products are worth the try. It helps that they come in cute but elegant packaging. The serum is in a snow glass container while the cream is packed inside a snow globe-like small tub. — LA, GMA News
