Bubbles Paraiso reveals she was told to bleach her skin for a TVC at 17

Bubbles Paraiso took to Instagram to share how much she's embraceing her morena skin now that she's much older and wiser.

Posting a photo of herself baring her glowing morena skin, Bubbles shared that when she was 17, her agent told her she was too dark and that she needed to bleach her skin.

"She told me that I needed to bleach my skin and maybe try to achieve my brother’s natural complexion - which is 10x lighter than mine," she added.

Bubbles admitted the incident left her feeling ugly. "I felt that I wasn't enough," the model wrote.

"But one thing I didn’t feel like doing was changing myself just to fit into another person’s idea of beauty," she said.

Days after the incident, Bubble got the call for the lead part of an ad, "and the biggest reason why I got the job was because of my color. They loved my perpetual tan. I was exactly what they were looking for."

Bubbles said she had insecurities with her physical appearance when she was younger, "but that didn’t sway me. (I did get an eating disorder at some point but that’s another story)," she said.

Bubbles ended her post with an empowering note, "Never let anyone make you believe that you’re not already beautiful the way that you are. One person’s idea of beauty does not define others’. You are ENOUGH. You are beautiful. Remember that." — Jannielyn Ann Bigtas/LA, GMA News
