Allan K reveals he was admitted to ICU due to COVID-19

After two of his family members died and his bars closed down, Allan K tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

During Saturday’s “Bawal Judgmental” segment on “Eat Bulaga,” where COVID-19 survivors were invited to participate, the comedian and host shared how 2020 brought him so much pain.

“After two months, ’yung sister ko na tumira sakin ng 17 years tapos umuwi na lang Bacolod ... namatay silang pareho na nasa pandemic tayo, so sinunog sila na hindi ko sila nakita. Dalawa magkasunod. Two months lang pagitan.

Allan said at first, he started to feel like he had the flu. Soon, he had fever and lost his sense of smell and taste.

As someone who took vitamins religiously and observed health protocols, Allan said that he couldn’t believe he got the disease.

He was rushed to the hospital and soon moved to the intensive care unit for three days and three nights.

“After two weeks daming sinasaksak sa ’kin, never ako na-intubate ... never ako na-intubate sa situation ko kasi severe ’yung case ko,” Allan said. The doctor told him he should be thankful that he immediately sought treatment because if he was admitted two days later, he would’ve needed to be intubated.

As he lay on his hospital bed, Allan said he held on to the Bible verse Exodus 15:26.

“Kumapit ako. Sabi noon, ‘I am the God that healeth thee.’ Alam niyo maya’t maya ko ’yun sinasabi. ‘Lord you are the God that healeth me. You just have to say the word and You will heal my disease,’” Allan said.

Meanwhile, host Vic Sotto revealed that while Allan was at the hospital, the doctor told him and Pauleen Luna that the patient’s situation was looking bad.

Vic, who had never told Allan about this, said: “Ngayon ko lang sasabihin sayo ... kasi nung in-admit siya, sabi ng doctor, ‘he doesn’t look good.’

Fortunately, Allan soon recovered. With everything he experienced, he said he learned to just have faith in God.

“Manalig lang talaga. Lahat dadaanan lahat ng pagsubok. Madadaanan nating lahat. Wag kakalimutan na nandyan Siya. Kung may kinuha man sa ’yo, may ibabalik yan,” the comedian said.

“Ito ang pangalawa kong buhay,” he added.
