How Jak Roberto manages to look beach-ready all year round
One of the hardest things about achieving your dream body is avoiding food you're not supposed to eat.
This is true even for "Pambansang Abs" Jak Roberto, who — as we all know — manages to look beach-ready all year round.
During a recent virtual interview with GMA News Online, the Kapuso hunk stressed that there was more to fitness than just working out, and that's sticking to a healthy diet even if it meant staying away from your favorite food.
In Jak's case, spicy noodles like ramen, Samgyupsal and Japanese food had to say goodbye.
The actor admitted he was also fond of chocolate and chips, but he tries his best not to give in to his cravings.
"Ang lagi akong talo is sa mga salty food na chips, ganyan. Mahilig ako sa maalat eh. Mga chips at mga chocolate, 'yun. Minsan nahihirapan akong pigilan," Jak said,
Lastly, Jak is not a big soft drink man until certain Pinoy entrees make it hard for him to say no.
"Hindi lang ako mahilig uminom ng soft drinks pero 'pag may mga times na ganon like, halimbawa, lalo na pagka porkchop 'yung ulam or inihaw na liempo, di ba ang sarap ng softdrinks?" The actor said.
"So minsan napapatry lang ako pero isang glass lang pero, after noon, hindi ako yung parang halos everyday nagso-softdrinks," he added.
Workout tips
Apart from eating healthy, Jak makes it a point to get enough sleep and work out at least every other day.
"Tuloy-tuloy 'yun. Kung morning person ka man or hapon ka magwo-workout, at least kailangan mo talagang mag-workout ng one hour to three hours per day. Tapos proper na kain, proper na tulog, para ma-achieve mo 'yung target mo na body," he said.
If you're new to working out, Jak suggests that you take extra care or inquire assistance from a trainer.
"Lagi kong (suggestion) sa mga nakikilala ko is mag-hire muna ng coach sa umpisa kasi, from there, 'yung coach mo ang magtuturo ng lahat ng proper workout [at] proper posture para hindi ka ma-injure," he said.
Apart from being an actor, Jak Roberto is an endorser and content creator known for his chiseled image and boy-next-door charm that earned him the moniker "Pambansang Abs." — LA, GMA News
