Chynna Ortaleza shares 'most honest selfie,' opens up about weight loss

Chynna Ortaleza revealed that she has been facing health and physical issues for the past months, resulting in her drastic weight loss.

On Instagram, Sunday, Chynna shared a “most honest selfie” of herself, showing the current state of her body.

“I am 86 [pounds] as of today but happy that my gut is recovering and that I am free of joint pains [and] headaches,” she wrote in the caption of the black and white mirror selfie.

“The past [six] months have tested me,” she continued, adding that she had to repeat the saying “aim for progress and nor perfection” to herself amid her small wins.

According to Chynna, she weighed 109 pounds before the pandemic started, a number she described as “steady” after giving birth to her youngest Salem.

But her weight only lasted until the health crisis hit.

“I noticed I would always have gut problems. Feeling acidic, problematic stools, dull pain on my side. So I took all the tests & scans I could take,” she wrote.

She also decided to identify the root cause of her issues and thankfully, received a normal result on all the tests she took.

It was taking a food intolerance test that she learned that gluten, dairy, eggs, and corn are not good for her.

“I honestly felt sad because everything I used to eat [and] loved had all of this! I had to take them out of my system for [three to four] months!” she wrote.

“I had to reprogram for the best. I started eating what was right for my body,” she added.

It was for this reason that Chynna experienced a “drastic drop” in her weight. No worries though because she is feeling better despite the adjustment.

“I gave my gut the much needed pampering. Giving it probiotics, learning to masticate [and] hydrate properly,” she wrote, adding that she will also need to build muscle.

With these, Chynna asked for guidance from God and said that she learned how “plenty of (her) traumas” have also affected the change.

“I pray that God will continue to light my way as I reconstruct the physical body that he has gifted this soul,” she wrote.

“I also learned that grief [and post-traumatic stress disorder] reflects on one’s body and I have to go through this to get through it,” she continued.

To end her post, Chynna reminded everyone to “take it easy on each other.” “Most of the time, what you see is never ever surface deep.”
