What are the symptoms of prostate cancer?
What are some of the signs that you may have prostate cancer?
In an episode of "Pinoy MD," Dr. Raul Quillamor said that prostate cancer starts with the benign growth of men's prostate gland due to age.
"When the prostate gland grows because of some hormonal factors also, there are some cases that they develop or generate into [prostate] cancer," he said in English and Filipino.
According to Quillamor, one of the symptoms of prostate cancer is frequent urination.
"Sometimes, when they pee, they would feel like their urine will run out and then sometimes, they would feel pain while urinating. This is what we call dysuria," he said.
"If the prostate gland is already big and is already cancerous, usually, men may find blood on their urine," he added.
Quillamor added that once these symptoms appear or a lymph gland appears on the urinal area, one should already seek professional help or guidance.
"Don't wait until you see blood on your urine," he said. "The moment you have problem with frequent urination or there's pain, you should go to a doctor."
