Keeping your hands clean with soap and water can help save your life. It may be easy to dismiss pre-pandemic, but these days, it’s one of the best ways to keep from getting sick. With new variants evolving and active cases still reported daily, people should continue to be extra careful because COVID-19 is still a threat.

When do you need to wash your hands?

Your hands come in contact with all kinds of germs throughout the day. You can help stop the spread of these germs in your household by washing during these times:

Everyone needs to pitch in to spread the life-saving value of regular handwashing. What better way than to organize a meaningful movement that can both educate and help people along the way? Filipino soap brand Bioderm launched its #IWashGermsWithBioderm campaign to do exactly that. It was a project that banded local government units (LGUs), non-profit organizations (NGOs), content creators, and frontliners together for a common advocacy.

The #IWashGermsWithBioderm movement reached Filipino families and communities across the country. As part of the campaign, Bioderm gave out Bioderm Hygiene Kits, which include loofah scrubs, towels, soaps, soap dishes, and scented candles to frontliners like nurses, teachers, fast food employees, drivers, and military personnel.

Knowledge is power when it comes to better health, especially during a pandemic. People who may have less access to the right information may be put at risk for diseases that may otherwise be avoided. Bioderm, along with its partners, conducted hygiene seminars along with soap donation and portable sink installations to talk about good hygiene, proper handwashing, and better health.

On social media, Bioderm even got people to try their hand at the “Pass the Soap” challenge. In this global viral trend, a person uses liquid soap or bar soap to wash his or her hand and then pretends to pass it to the next person. “Pass the Soap” videos are stitched together by thousands of users, effectively raising awareness on the importance of handwashing amid the pandemic.
