Bea Alonzo opens up about her hypothyroidism experience, symptoms

Following Bea Alonzo's revelation that she has hypothyroidism, she shared some of the symptoms she was experiencing before receiving a diagnosis.

In Nelson Canlas's report on "24 Oras," Monday, Bea said she has been diagnosed with polycystic [ovary syndrome] when she was 19 years old.

The Kapuso actress said she has been struggling with it for quite some time, but recently, she began to experience more symptoms.

"Parang ang dami kong nararamdaman. Madali akong mapagod, madali akong lamigin, brain fog. Tapos 'di ako pumapayat kahit anong diet na gawin ko," she said.

According to the Harvard Health, brain fog refers to "how people feel when their thinking is sluggish, fuzzy, and not sharp."

"And when I saw a doctor, meron pala akong problema sa thyroid," Bea said.

"Currently, ginagamot namin ito, pero siyempre, there is no one pill fits all pagdating sa hormones. So, I'm still struggling with it. It's been a challenge for me," she added.

She also said for the people who care for her not to worry, and she will face it head-on to maintain a healthy body.

Bea started filming the upcoming series "Love Before Sunrise" with Dennis Trillo. The show is a collaboration between GMA Network and Viu Philippines.
