Mom seeks help for daughter with extra arm on her back

A mother is asking for medical assistance for her young daughter who has an extra arm on her back.

In a report on "24 Oras," Monday, Mercy Corpin said she had an ultrasound when she was eight months pregnant with her daughter Mika, but nothing out of the ordinary was found.

When Mika was born, however, she already has a third arm growing out of her back. The extra limb is making life difficult for the little girl, who always has to sleep on her side to avoid hurting herself.

Mika's condition was referred to the GMA Kapuso Foundation by its partner doctor Dr. Beda Espineda, a pediatric surgeon and chairman of the World Surgical Foundation Philippines.

According to Espineda, Mika's third arm is due to a parasitic twin.

"Ibig sabihin, wala namang buhay. May isang parte lang na dumikit," he said.

Mercy is appealing to kind-hearted individuals to help Mika get the medical treatment she needs.

For those who want to help Mika, GMA Kapuso Foundation accepts donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, GCash, Shopee, PayMaya, Zalora, MegaMart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
