Kris Aquino undergoes surgical procedures
Kris Aquino has undergone surgical procedures, including the implantation of a port-a-cath, as she begins a more aggressive phase of her medical treatment.
On Instagram, the Queen of All Media said that the procedures commenced on August 20, and she was later transferred to a cardiac operating room for her port-a-cath, a small implanted device that allows easy access to a patient’s veins, Medical News Today explains.
“While writing this, happy tears are flowing because I’m remembering how much our mom endured for us, she also had a port-a-cath surgically inplanted, yet we never heard her complain, and she didn’t have a pain management doctor,” Kris said.
Per Kris, her sons Josh and Bimby “are the reason i continue to endure.”
“If I wasn’t their mama, matagal na po akong sumuko,” she said.
Kris admitted it is very difficult to be as brave as her parents because she knows this is just the beginning of more aggressive treatment to keep her alive and get her to a point of remission.
Her doctors have a six-month window, during which Kris will be in isolation, to devise the optimal treatment plan.
“I have a new hashtag to remind myself how much I owe all of you who continue praying for me. Thank you for your patience, support, and much appreciated LOVE. #labankris,” she wrote.
In February, Kris made her first public appearance to attend the People Asia People of the Year 2025 awards night and showed support for her friend Michael Leyva.
In April, Kris revealed she has nine autoimmune diseases. She underwent another medical procedure that month.
Earlier this week, she updated her followers saying her doctors found something alarming in her blood panel results. "Tuloy pa rin ang laban," she said.
