Aubrey Miles, Troy Montero's daughter Rocket learns to read 3 years after autism diagnosis

Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles' daughter, Rocket, has come a long way after getting diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in 2022.

On Instagram, Troy and Aubrey shared a video of him patiently guiding Rocket as she read a book.

"From non-verbal at 3 to reading at a first-grade level at 6," Troy said.

Troy thanked his daughter's teachers, therapists, school, and clinic that helped them along the way.

"And to our community here on Rocket's ASD Awareness Page your encouragement, your stories, and your positive energy mean so much to us. Let’s keep pushing for more progress, more breakthroughs, and more hope," he said.

Troy also said that they don't mind Rocket using a phone once in a while, but they make sure to set boundaries.

"Sometimes it takes a little encouragement from Mom and Dad to focus on story time, especially when there's a phone nearby," he said.

"We don't mind a little screen time, but for us, it's only after school and never before," he added.

One year after Rocket's diagnosis, she underwent stem cell therapy to help her condition. Since then, Aubrey and Troy have been sharing updates on their daughter's progress on social media.
