Chito Miranda marks 10 years smoke-free, shares lessons on health and discipline

It has been a decade since Chito Miranda stopped smoking, and he continues to commit to a healthier lifestyle as he approaches his 50th birthday.

On Instagram, the Parokya ni Edgar vocalist uploaded a video of him at the gym, sharing valuable insights on discipline, health, and the sacrifices required to maintain a healthier lifestyle.

"Hanggang ngayon, 10 years after ko mag-quit, nate-tempt pa rin ako mag-yosi. Pero 'di ko ginagawa... kahit gaano ko ka-gusto," Chito wrote in the caption.

He admitted that there are times when he feels too lazy to exercise, but he makes sure to still push through even when he is not in the mood.

Chito also shared that he has started eating healthy and has reduced his consumption of alcohol, sugary drinks, and unhealthy food.

Kung nakaya ko, I'm sure kaya mo din," he said.

Per Chito, success requires the right mindset and rejecting excuses, and if someone believes they cannot succeed, they accept defeat right away.

'Di talaga madali, pero kaya mo 'yan kung gusto mo talaga," he said.

In addition to maintaining past successes, Chito is focusing on correcting current habits.

A new priority for the musician is sleeping early whenever possible, saying that he was awake late his whole life due to being in a band.

"'Yan ang kelangan kong ayusin para mas maayos ang tulog ko, and maging mas healthy and present ako for my family, at aantok-antok kinabukasan hehe! Kaya 'yan."

Chito is married to Neri Naig. The couple has three kids: Pia, Miggy, and Cash.
