Ruffa Gutierrez asks for prayers as dad Eddie undergoes first spinal procedure

Ruffa Gutierrez has asked for prayers as her father Eddie undergoes his first spinal procedure. 

On Instagram, the celebrity shared a carousel post of photos of Eddie with Annabel Rama, Ruffa and Mond, and a number of medical practitioners.

The post was geotagged to Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital and was accompanied with a caption signed by the entire Gutierrez family.

"Please join us in prayer as our dad, Eddie Gutierrez, undergoes his first spinal procedure today in Singapore with Dr. Prem Pillay at the Neuro Spine & Pain Center, Mount Elizabeth Hospital," the statement began.

She also made sure to include a note of gratitude "to everyone who has been praying, supporting, and standing with us through this difficult journey."

In the statement, the Gutierrez family gave a shoutout to "Filipino nurses who are helping us here and taking such good care of our dad — maraming salamat po."

The family has mostly been mum about the veteran actor's health but in October, Ruffa took to Instagram about how her father "hasn't been feeling well."

"I called my mom earlier and she said, 'Mamaya na, Ruffita. Inaasikaso ko pa si Daddy mo,' then hung up," she narrated back then.

"I’ve watched how Mom poured all her time and energy into caring for him," Ruffa added, saying her parents' interaction helped her realize, among other things, that "family is everything."

In their statement, the Gutierrez family made sure to extend their empathy "to everyone facing their own battles this season."
