Ruffa Gutierrez gives update after dad Eddie’s spinal procedure

Ruffa Gutierrez gave an update on her father, Eddie Gutierrez’s condition following his spinal procedure in Singapore.

On Instagram, the celebrity shared new photos and videos, including one of her dad preparing for the procedure and another of her mom, Annabelle Rama, praying the rosary.

“To everyone who has sent comforting messages and included Dad in your prayers, a heartfelt thank you! Dad is already showing signs of improvement after yesterday’s spine procedure, and the antibiotics are helping. Thank You, Lord,” Ruffa wrote in the caption.

She added, they are still waiting for additional test results from his urologist, Dr. Sam Peh, and she asked for continued prayers for Eddie’s full recovery so they can all be together in Manila for Christmas.

In her update, Ruffa shared a light moment from their consultation, quoting Dr. Prem Pillay telling her parents with a smile, “We’ll make sure you live until you’re 100 or more!”

Ruffa said that she and Annabelle ended up getting their checkups done under the same doctor.

“A gentle reminder for everyone: Health is wealth. Let’s take good care of ourselves and most importantly, let’s spend time with our parents because it’s our turn to take care of them.”

The family has mostly been mum about the veteran actor's health, but in October, Ruffa took to Instagram about how her father "hasn't been feeling well."

"I called my mom earlier and she said, 'Mamaya na, Ruffita. Inaasikaso ko pa si Daddy mo,' then hung up," she narrated back then.

"I’ve watched how Mom poured all her time and energy into caring for him," Ruffa added, saying her parents' interaction helped her realize, among other things, that "family is everything."
