Ate Gay undergoes immunotherapy for his cancer
Ate Gay has undergone immunotherapy for his cancer.
On Facebook, the comedian shared a photo taken from the Asian Hospital and Medical Center in Muntinlupa City on the second day of his treatment.
“Ngayon ang 2nd day ng Immuno therapy ko. Mapalad ako may Anghel na tumutulong sa akin … napakaexpensive ng imunno dito sa Pinas,” Ate Gay said.
According to Ate Gay, he has to undergo immunotherapy every 21 days for a total of 12 sessions.
“Eto na rin Ang permit ko to travel kasi nakapag immuno therapy na ako.. Salamat Lord,” he wrote.
According to the National Cancer Institute, immunotherapy is a type of cancer treatment that helps your immune system fight cancer.
Ate Gay's recent medical treatment came at the heels of his previous update about the lump on his neck, which has now flattened.
Previously, Ate Gay said that he was confined in the hospital after completing his radiation and chemotherapy.
In a September episode of "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho," Ate Gay disclosed his Stage 4 cancer diagnosis, and since then, blessings came pouring in for the comedian. An anonymous donor helped him with his radiation therapy at the Asian Hospital, while a fan lent a condo unit nearby for the comedian's convenience.
After six days of treatment, the lump on his neck had visibly shrunk. In an October interview with Nelson Canlas, Ate Gay gave the lowdown of his full treatment: 35 days of radiation and five times of chemotherapy.
In November, Ate Gay said he already “graduated” from radiation and chemotherapy.
