Yasmien Kurdi's daughter Ayesha gives speech about healing and growth at school

Yasmien Kurdi's daughter Ayesha Zara gives speech about healing and growth at school

Yasmien Kurdi is one proud mom as her eldest daughter, Ayesha, was one of the speakers of the De La Salle Santiago Zobel School Open House.

As seen in the actress' Instagram Reel, Ayesha gave a speech about how, as a new student, the school became a place of growth, healing, and a home.

She opened up about the bullying she experienced in her previous school, but her faith in God had helped her through it all.

"La Salle gave me the space to heal, to grow, and to believe in myself again," Ayesha said.

Yasmien shared how proud she was of Ayesha in her caption.

"Grabe Ayesha! Wala kaming masabi… Talagang wala kaming idea ng Papa mo sa sasabihin mo on stage, at kinakabahan ako sobra… pero ginulat mo kami! Ang galing mo! We are so proud of you!" Ayesha said.

"Watching you stand there so brave and confident is the best gift our hearts could ever receive as your parents. And seeing how you overcame everything with God's guidance within you means more to us than words can say," the actress added.

Yasmien also shared that they are grateful that Ayesha is now in a safe place where she is "protected, supported, and truly cared for."

"Watching you grow and live out your high school dreams makes me emotional: being a core leader, stepping in as a host whenever the school needs one (I know how much you love it), and becoming a varsity player for DLSZ," Yasmien said.

In 2024, Yasmien claimed that Ayesha was getting bullied in school.

She said her daughter "was ganged up on" and "targeted" by students for not replying to messages about their school Christmas party. She was also blocked by students into not leaving their classroom and denied food during their breaks.

Another student also allegedly took a video of Ayesha without her consent, causing her "paranoia and anxiety."

"She has been enduring this type of bullying since Grade 2, alarmingly this has led to the creation of an online 'Ayesha Hate Club' targeting her," the actress said.

Yasmien also previously shared her heartbreak upon finding a polaroid photo of Ayesha that's been cut up into pieces.

Ayesha was homeschooled before transferring to DLSZ.

Ayesha is Yasmien's eldest child with Rey Soldevilla. The couple welcomed their second daughter, Raya Layla in May.
