Over 2,000 bags of blood collected in GMA Kapuso Foundation donation drive

Almost 2,500 bags of blood were collected during the Sagip Dugtong Buhay project of GMA Kapuso Foundation and GMA Regional TV's nationwide donation drive.

One of the frequent donors throughout GMA Kapuso Foundation 30 years of saving lives with the project is Dondon Sardido, who has donated 30 times.

"Medyo masaya rin na nakakatulong ako kahit na hindi ko kilala 'yung tao na tutulungan ko," he said on "24 Oras."

Since 1996, more than 288,000 were helped by the Sagip Dugtong Buhay pProject of GMA Kapuso Foundation and the Philippine Red Cross.

One bag of blood can be divided into up to four bags depending on the disease being treated.

GMA Kapuso Foundation also gave out food and lots of freebies to donors, while Sparkle artists and volunteers performed during the event. —Nika Roque/MGP, GMA Integrated News
