Fifty-eight people were stung by jellyfish at Tondaligan Beach in Dagupan, Pangasinan over the weekend.

According to a “Balitanghali” report, the chief lifeguard said the victims experienced vomiting, itchiness, and difficulty in breathing.

The authorities gave them immediate assistance, while five individuals were brought to a clinic.

Swimming in Tondaligan Beach is temporarily prohibited due to the incident.

The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) has these tips in case you get stung or attacked by a jellyfish.

  1. Wash the affected area with vinegar for 30 seconds.
  2. Next, remove the remaining tentacles from the affected area.
  3. Soak the affected area in hot water to lessen the pain and swelling.
  4. Finally, bring the patient to a hospital if they experience extreme symptoms, like trouble breathing or tightening of the chest.
