Megan Young gets real about postpartum fitness journey: 'I didn't bounce back'

Megan Young is opening up about her postpartum fitness journey, sharing the difference in her body one month and one year after giving birth.

On Instagram, the first-time mom shared a reel showing her body one month postpartum and one year later.

"I didn't bounce back," she wrote, adding that she instead slowly eased herself back into fitness after being cleared by her OB-GYN.

Megan said her first few months postpartum focused on light movement and gradually returning to exercise.

"Months one to four, I was doing light walking, eventually lifting weights again, but still wasn't at the point that I wanted to be," she wrote.

She also revealed that she remained 25 pounds above her pre-pregnancy weight after gaining 50 pounds during pregnancy.

In her fifth month postpartum, her fitness journey faced another setback after she contracted dengue, which limited her movement.

From months six to nine, Megan said she was finally able to lift heavier with guidance from a fitness coach. And by her 10th month postpartum, she and her husband, Mikael Daez, began training with another coach and were fully committed to their fitness routine.

"We've been working hard for the past two months," she said. "Workout kahit nakabakasyon, tracking my food intake every single day."

"It has been so worth it," she added.

For Megan, the journey has been about more than physical transformation.

"I love getting stronger for myself so that I can be stronger for my family," she ended.

Earlier in May, Megan celebrated her first Mother's Day as a mom.

Megan and Mikael, who got married in 2020, welcomed their son Leon in 2025.
