Heart Evangelista reveals she was hospitalized, calls it 'hardest wake-up call'

Heart Evangelista revealed that she was recently hospitalized for an undisclosed illness.

On Instagram Stories, the Kapuso host and actress shared an update on her health, including a photo of her bruised arm.

"Thank you Lord I'm home and out of the woods," she said. "To all the nurses and doctors who were so sweet to me [especially] the ones who I could hardly speak to cause of my situation thank you for being so gentle."

"I don't like romanticizing certain situations but it was one of my hardest wake-up call. Health is wealth," she added.

While Heart did not give details on what happened, she said her "kidneys are happy again."

She also thanked her friends who sent her messages, food, and flowers. John Prats received a special mention for sending her warm soup.

Heart also shared a realization that she had.

"Don't work for the approval of others. Work for yourself," she said. "I am so done giving 200 percent just to please the ones who never liked you to begin with. I will work to make me happy and for my own personal 'purpose.'"

Heart currently hosts Kapuso game show "The People Have Spoken" with Sean Lucas. It airs Saturdays on GMA Network at 6:15 p.m. after "24 Oras Weekend." —MGP, GMA News
