Klea Pineda's weight loss journey: How self-love helped the Sparkle star shave off 20kgs in five months

Klea Pineda lost a whopping 20 kilograms in a span of five months. She started her weight loss journey in February, tipping the scale at 75kgs. At present, the Sparkle actress weighs a healthy 55 kilograms.

According to Klea, losing weight was "never easy."

"I started gaining weight during the pandemic," she said. Klea was constantly eating and was hardly active. It didn't help that weight gain "runs in my family."

She would try different diets and workout routines but was always lukewarm about it. "I wasn't fully committed, and I always had an excuse for a cheat day," she admitted, adding she didn't really have a clear goal back then.

Fast forward to February 2026, when she started taking her weight loss journey seriously. Klea's biggest motivation? Loving herself.

"That pushed me to take my weight loss seriously" she said.

For the "Open Endings" star, self-love meant putting her health first. "I cut back on partying, stopped eating just because I was bored, and learned to control my cravings," Klea said.

Apart from regaining control over unhealthy habits, she also dutifully follows the OMAD diet, also known as One Meal A Day plan, ensuring her meals are low in carbs and high in protein.

"I also lift weights and try to go to the gym as often as I can," Klea says, adding she also throws in a run when she can help it.

It helped that she had a better and clearer vision of the person she wanted to become. "I wanted to look in the mirror and be happy with what I saw," Klea said.

She says seeing all her progress is the best part of her weight loss journey. "Watching my body change from day one keeps me motivated," Klea said. "Clothes that used to be too tight are now loose, and that feeling is so rewarding."

In five months, she's successfully shaved off 20kg from her weight, a journey she wouldn't call easy.

But Klea is careful to dole out weight loss advice. "I learned there's no single diet or workout that works for everyone," she said.
